FPL Strategy
What Is a Wildcard in FPL?
A Wildcard is a chip that allows an FPL manager to make multiple squad changes without the usual transfer cost.
Why managers use it
A Wildcard can be useful when a squad needs several changes at once. Managers may use it after injuries, changes in player roles or a run of difficult fixtures.
Planning matters
Using a Wildcard is not only about picking the best players today. It can also involve looking at upcoming fixtures and keeping a balanced squad.
Do not rush
Because chip rules and availability can change by season, managers should check the official game rules and consider their own squad before activating a Wildcard.
Build a balanced squad
A Wildcard can be used to improve the structure of a squad across goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders and forwards rather than focusing on one position only.
