FPL Strategy
What Is a Free Hit in FPL?
A Free Hit is a fantasy chip that allows temporary squad changes for a single gameweek, subject to the current FPL rules.
The basic idea
A Free Hit can be useful when a manager wants a different squad for one specific gameweek without permanently keeping all of those changes.
When it can help
Managers may consider it during unusual fixture schedules, when some teams have many or few matches, or when a one-week opportunity is especially different from the weeks around it.
Think beyond one week
Before using the chip, compare the likely benefit for the target gameweek with the squad you would otherwise own.
Check the current rules
Chip mechanics can change. Always confirm the current season’s official rules before activating a Free Hit.
